  • For years, dating back to Reagan and perhaps longer, the "Middle Class" had really been nothing more than an illusion. The illusion being that people bought houses, cars, toys, had kids, and dined out with money they didn't have, and would never have.

  • Let's begin with Letterman's jokes were not directed at either of the Palin daughters. The jokes were pointed at Rodriguez and Spitzer, if anyone.

  • JasonAx, the banks that I'm talking about are the ones that practice the "preditory" lending practices. I.E. Providian, a credit card bank that was sanctioned for added phoney fees to their customers statements. Most of which people just paid because they never questioned their bill.

  • A: Obama needs to act like a president right now, because no one else is. He has an emrgency on his hands and the current administration is not going to act on it, at least I hope not considering their record.

  • Oh, do not get me wrong Jessica. While this fire has been smoldering for some time, the actions of this administration and it's appointed officials, Greenspan and Paulson were the equivelant of pouring gasoline on the embers.

  • I don't know, it just seems to me that part of the responsibility has to fall on us, the American people. For years we have been, as whole, living beyond our means. We are suffering the consequences of being a gluttenous society, plain and simple.
